ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick has announced the formation of the working group to design the city’s new Department of Public Safety.
The group is charged with designing the new agency which will be custom-tailored to provide solutions to the community’s distinct safety and health needs.
Former City Alderperson Eric Roasrio will be taking on the project lead position.
The Collaborative notes its next steps include hiring a Project Director and Data Analyst to staff the Community Justice Center and launching a new online software to host project updates and provide opportunities for digital community engagement.
