Opioid deaths decline slightly in Cortland County

CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — Cortland County leaders are reflecting on fatal overdoses.

Opioids killed 10 people last year in the county. The Cortland Standard reports nine of the overdoses involved fentanyl.

Overall, Cortland County saw a slight decrease in opioid deaths.

In related news, Tompkins County is planning to move forward with a detox center.
