GROTON, N.Y. (WHCU) — Students in Groton will help choose the school district’s new mascot.

Athletic teams in the district are currently called the Indians, but that name is changing. Superintendent Margo Martin says students are doing a summer research project on possible options. She expects the mascot and logo to be ready after Thanksgiving break.

In related news, the Ithaca City School District will work on capital projects this summer.
