ALBANY, N.Y. (WHCU) — State officials are keeping a sharp eye on fake I-Ds this summer.

The New York State DMV has launched Operation Prevent, which is described as an effort to curb underage drinking at summer concert venues. Investigators with the DMV will work with other law enforcement statewide through mid-September.

During last summer’s crackdown, 580 fake documents were seized.
