Cortland woman facing charges after barcode switch at Walmart

CORTLANDVILLE, N.Y. (WHCU) – A Cortland woman is facing charges after a theft complaint.

Cortland County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to Walmart on Bennie Road Tuesday, July 18, for a larceny investigation. They say 37-year-old Nina Hopkins stole some merchandise and switched barcodes on others. Hopkins left the store on foot and was arrested shortly after. She was taken to Cortland County Jail without bail.

Hopkins will face charges of felony falsifying business records and misdemeanor petit larceny in Cortlandville Town Court on Friday, July 21, at 12:00 noon.
