Cortland man arrested for stealing from Lowes and resisting arrest

CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — Deputies have arrested a Cortland man after stealing from Lowes and resisting arrest.

Authorities responded to the store around two-o’clock Sunday afternoon. 37 year old Christopher Hewes allegedly stole items from the store and tried running from an officer. Deputies arrested Hewes and later found he has outstanding warrants.

Hewes has been charged with grand larceny, obstruction of governmental administration, and resisting arrest. He’s been remanded to the Cortland County Jail without bail.
