Cancer Resource Center in Ithaca relocating due to parking, crime issues

ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – The Cancer Resource Center of the Finger Lakes (CRCFL) is relocating.

The organization says they’ll move from the location at 612 West State Street in Ithaca due to a lack of parking and safety issues. The CRCFL Executive Committee says the ‘increasing incidents of vandalism, violence, verbal and drug abuse on the premises, belligerent interactions, attempted break ins, and public urination’ have made the situation ‘untenable.’ Staff reportedly no longer feel safe walking to their car and the building is kept lock even when staff are present.

CRCFL plans to move to the Community Corners complex at 840 Hanshaw Road in Cayuga Heights until it can find a permanent solution. There has been no decision made about the State Street building.
