ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – A familiar face in Ithaca will continue to pursue a seat on Common Council.

Jason Houghton will run as an independent in the Fifth Ward this November, after losing the Democratic primary earlier this summer to Cornell student Clyde Lederman. The Ithaca Voice reports Houghton wasn’t sure if he’d continue to run after the loss, but encouragement from residents in Ward Five made him follow through.
