CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — Business is down in downtown Cortland. 

Bob Haight is president of the Cortland Area Chamber of Commerce. 

Haight says the decline is the result of Main Street being torn up for a reconstruction project. The drop was not unexpected. 

The project to transform Main Street into two-way traffic is expected to be finished by the end of 2024.
