No injuries after car catches on fire in Ithaca business complex

ITHACA — A car caught fire on Ithaca’s South Hill on Christmas Eve.

A 2003 Volkswagon Passet was engulfed in flames at the South Hill Business Campus on Danby Road, across from Ithaca College, around 6 p.m. Thursday.
The driver was out of the car when first responders got to the scene. Ithaca firefighters say the individual was okay when they were evaluated.
The Ithaca Fire Department says the fire was caused by a malfunction in the engine compartment of the vehicle. The fire was put out within an hour.
